Building Muscle Mass

Building muscle mass is not as complicated as what many people are claiming it to be. There is absolutely science behind it but it’s not that hard to figure it out. To make you understand better, let us go into the process of how and why muscle grows. In return we gain a better perspective in our efforts to build them overtime.

First and foremost there’s proper nutrition. The basic building block of muscles (or the body for that matter) is food. In building muscles, the point of eating the right food could not be stressed more. Protein facilitates muscle growth – lots of it (1 gram every pound of body weight). So to build muscles eat right, consider your protein requirements and observe the right frequency of intake all throughout the day.

Building muscle mass the right way

Ok so we are eating right. But without training and exercise we will get fat, not fit. We have to let our body believe that we need to build bulk in muscles. Through consistent training we are pounding our body with the message to build muscles. Only when we train properly that we cause controlled wear and tear in our muscle fibers. This is caused by the stress we subject our muscles to work outs. So that’s it? We are growing muscles already? No.

We let our body believe we have the means to build muscle mass (by eating the right food) and we convince it we need these muscles (by working out) but we must also give it time to build it. Rest and rest some more. This is the only time we are growing muscles. When our body is idle, we are giving it space to recover and repair the damaged muscles. In that process we building muscle mass.

There are hundreds of ways to tailor fit our diet and there are countless variations in our training that can boost up our efforts in building up our muscles. But without the pyramid of proper nutrition, training and rest, everything will collapse. We really cannot overdo each. Striking the right balance is key in building muscle mass that matters.
